In some aquaculture cages is Charlotte County, salmon is being grown with mussels and seaweed to lessen the environmental impact of the cages and capitalize on food costs.Shawn Robinson, research scientist with the Department of Fisheries Biological Station in St. Andrews, says he is leading the world’s research in this kind of multi-trophic aquaculture.
